The specialised system at PDR creates rapid metal castings in a variety of materials to a high accuracy in a clean, contained and controlled system. The parts produced are free of voids, with excellent surfaces that usually require no finishing. The Rapid Casting Process has been designed specifically to meet the increasing demand for quick, economical metal castings for prototypes, low and medium runs of up to several hundred parts.

The Vacuum Investment Casting Equipment uses sacrificial patterns generated in house on PDR’s RP systems to produce metal prototypes in anything from 24 hours to 2 to 3 days using the following low temperature alloys:

 Aluminium
 Zinc
 Copper
 Magnesium
 Brass

Accuracy is typically down to 0.1% on linear dimensions with a max component/tree size of  500mm x Ø350mm. The maximum melt temperature is 1300°C
