METAL CASTING // RAPID POLYMERS // RAPID PROTOTYPING // TOOLING
The rapid realisation of design schemes has become an integral part of modern product development. PDR have been at the forefront of prototyping and modelling technologies since its foundation over ten years ago winning numerous international awards.
Prototype parts can be generated rapidly from 3D cad data in a variety of materials encompassing both plastics and metals. These may be used to for such things as assessment of fit and function, assembly and market feedback. Rapid prototyping technologies utilise either layer building approaches to ‘grow’ parts or subtractive methods utilising high speed multi-axis machining. All directly from 3D data creating parts without tooling and geometry constraints.
These parts can be used for form fit and functional assessment and as master patterns for downstream low volume production in either metals or plastics in house We have a range of technologies in house including SLA (Stereolithography), Thermojet (High Accuracy Wax Patterns), Object Printing and SLM (Selective Laser Melting), High speed machining of polymeric and metals. The commitment to stay at the forefront of this area continues with significant research and investment into a number new applications and techniques to maintain PDR as a leading centre in this field.
